We traveled to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. This lighthouse is on that island. I've been reading Mandela's autobiography "Long Road to Freedom" and recommend it to anyone who would like to understand what was going on in South Africa during aparteid and get a glimpse into the life of an amazing man.
