The Ngorongoro Crater: This was created by a volcanic eruption, leaving a crater in the top of a mountain which has since become a lush grassy place for animals to live. All the big 5 live in this crater. Here is an elephant strolling through a heard of zebras and wildebeests. As we watched him walk along, he crossed paths with a rhino.

We were watching this female lion walking toward a male lion, when she saw the shadows of the vehicles. She walked around the vehicles, but when she started to lie down, the drivers would start their engines so she wouldn't lay down under the vehicle and they couldn't move.
Bill and Genie at the edge of the crater. Clouds and mist and fog would cover the top of the crater in the morning, but the sun would shine through in the afternoon. We drove through dense foilage on the way to the top of the mountain.

You guys are pretty cute. It kinda looks like dad is calling to that elephant that was wandering around. I'm still kinda curious about this crater-- and will probably do some more googling! Thanks for posting the picts! I love you!
