So I haven't figured this site out yet--these photos should have been at the end of the series, not the begtinning, but here we are:
For the Chyulu District Conference, we stayed at the Kiliguni Safari Lodge in Tsavo West Park. Chyulu District is comprised of 10 rural branches. There is no place to stay, so we drive an additional hour to get to the Lodge.

Sunday evening, after the conference and Bill signing 38 temple recommends, Elder Renlund, Bill and Sister Renlund relaxing on the veranda watching the animals come to the watering hole for a drink.

We drove to the Chyulu area the day before the conference--it is a 4 hour drive from Nairobi. We stopped at one of the meeting houses (Darijani) for Bill to sign some temple recommends. These are some of the sisters who were there for their interviews. I'd write their names, but I don't know all of them. The sister in the white blouse next to me is Anna--the Primary president of Darijani 2 Branch. The sister in the multicolored dress next to me is Anastasia, the Branch president's wife. She and her husband went to the temple in March. She spoke in Conference about strengthening our families and it was a wonderful talk! The sister next to her in the red and black is her sister in law whose husband is the branch president of the other Darijani (1) branch.

Behind the meeting house is a huge area for growing food--a shamba. The church furnishes the water and the people can grow vegetables and mango trees to provide food for their families.
Elder Renlund and Stephen(in the white shirt) who is the branch president of Darijani 2 branch. This is part of the shamba that they fertilized--it looks wonderful.
