Mission Presidents Seminar

After two days of training, we had a couple of field days. This one was to the Plumari Game Reserve near Johannesburg. It was situated on an old South African Estate. This is the old chapel. There were barns with old machinery, a museum and even an old ambulance from the Boor War. The game reserve also housed a couple of elephants that were being trained. Here Bill is feeding the elephant and feeling how soft its tongue is. He also had the elephant pick an orange out of his mouth--a pretty sloppy kiss!

The game drive was taken in two of these vehicles. Here we are having a break. Sister Poulsen, Josh's mission president's wife, is saying "hi".

Along the way we say a greater kudu with its curly horns (antlers?). I think this is an amazingly beautiful animal. But it's rather shy, so is hard to get a good picture of it. We also saw cape buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, lion, crocodile and a lot of birds.

We also visited a botanical garden. It was rather nippy--it's wintertime in Johannesburg. Bill and I are sitting with some friends. Elder and Sister Watson and Sister Koelliker.

There was this beautiful waterfall--a perfect place for a photo. And the water was running clear--not muddy like we usually see here in Kenya.

This is My Father's world! The gardens were beautiful! So many different types of plants, trees, flowering shrubs, and flowers. The Lord made a beautiful world with so much variety! we had fun walking around the gardens and enjoying an eye feast!

We ended the seminar with a testimony meeting and attending the temple. What a wonderful way to finish.
